Russell Lake is a neighbourhood within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in this area. Most homes for sale are a very short car ride from the closest highway, and it is very convenient to find a parking spot. On the other hand, this part of Halifax is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are around 10 bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are usually very close by. Russell Lake is not particularly amenable to bicycling as there are a limited number of bike lanes, and there are a good number of elevation changes. A majority of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are also not particularly suitable for those who get around on foot as carrying out daily needs is occasionally difficult without a vehicle.

Services

Home buyers in this neighbourhood will value that a grocery store is always only a short distance away. Furthermore, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner, and residents benefit from a few cafes as well. It is also easy to access a number of clothing stores without a vehicle. In terms of education, it is a reasonably short stroll to get to daycares from any location in Russell Lake. On the other hand, Russell Lake does not have any primary schools or high schools.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a slower-paced environment will enjoy Russell Lake. It is easy to access parks in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 30 of them nearby for residents to unwind in. This part of Halifax is very quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Housing

In Russell Lake, around 40% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, but large apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock.
