Situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Oakfield is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Cars are a great means of transportation in Oakfield. Parking is quite easy. It is very impractical for people walking to navigate Oakfield because almost no daily errands can be run without the need for a vehicle. The bicycle is a rather limited mode of transportation in this part of the municipality as the cycling network is not very well-developed, and the area is not particularly flat.

Services

This part of Halifax does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Furthermore, it can be very hard to reach daycares on foot. With respect to eating, property owners in this community almost always have to use a vehicle to travel to the closest grocery store.

Character

Oakfield offers a slower-paced ambience. Oakfield is very quiet overall, as the streets are very peaceful. Parks are spread out sporadically, which makes them very difficult to access. Still, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to explore, including Oakfield Provincial Park.

The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Oakfield is an important part of its character.
