Situated within the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Moosehead is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Moosehead is very car friendly. It is especially convenient to park. This community is not very suited for bicycling because the cycling infrastructure is quite bad, and the topography is not particularly flat. It is also very difficult for people walking to get around in Moosehead as almost no common errands can be run without a car.

Services

In all cases, a car is needed to purchase groceries. In terms of education, this part of Halifax does not have any high schools or primary schools. Furthermore, daycares are not numerous and therefore tend to require a very long stroll to get to.

Character

Moosehead offers a relaxed environment. Moosehead is quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Parks aren't well-distributed, which results in them being rather challenging to get to from most locations in this part of Halifax. Despite that, there are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in, like Eastern Shore Islands Wilderness Area.
