Part of the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Mill Cove is a neighbourhood within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

This area is reasonably well-suited for pedestrians; many common errands can be run without the use of a car. In contrast, Mill Cove is not particularly appropriate for biking because bike riders encounter quite a few hills, and the bicycling infrastructure is not especially well-developed. Driving is a great mode of transportation in this area. The majority of real estate listings are a short car ride from the nearest highway, and it is very convenient to park. However, the transit in Mill Cove is rather limited. Thankfully, property owners benefit from a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually around the corner.

Services

This area is also very good for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

Roughly 40% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Mill Cove, while the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and single detached homes. This part of the municipality is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 60% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 40% are renters. About 30% of properties in this part of Halifax were constructed between 1990 and 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
