Transportation

Driving is an excellent mode of transportation in Dartmouth Crossing. Parking is easy, and it is a very short drive to the closest highway from any location in this part of Halifax. However, the transit infrastructure in Dartmouth Crossing is not very convenient. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. This neighbourhood is not particularly well-suited for people who prefer to get around by foot because carrying out daily needs is sometimes difficult without a car. On the other hand, this part of the municipality is cycling-friendly as there are a fair number of bike lanes.

Services

It is convenient to reach the closest supermarket as a pedestrian from most houses for sale in Dartmouth Crossing. Likewise, those who are fond of dining in restaurants or cafes will have a good number of choices in this area. Home buyers benefit from a fair number of nearby clothing stores. Regarding education, parents and their children will appreciate that no matter where their house is located in Dartmouth Crossing, daycares are close by. Although this part of Halifax is not known for its lively atmosphere, with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located very close by. Dartmouth Crossing is very quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Public green spaces, such as Shubenacadie Canal Provincial Park and Cyril Smith Golden Acres Park, are very well-situated and there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to visit, which makes it very easy to get to them.

Housing

The majority of the housing stock of Dartmouth Crossing consists of single detached homes and small apartment buildings, while the remainder are mainly townhouses. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. The population residing in this part of Halifax is evenly split between renters and owners. The homes in this neighbourhood are quite new, because about 40% of its buildings were built between 1990 and 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
