Big Lake

The community of Big Lake is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

The favoured approach to navigate this part of Halifax is usually driving. Parking is generally easy. It is difficult to commute by bike in this part of Halifax since the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive, and there are a good number of slopes. A majority of the homes for sale in this area are located in places that are also not very conducive to those who like to get around as pedestrians since almost no common errands can be run without the need to use a vehicle.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of Halifax. Likewise, daycares are not abundant and thus tend to require a very long trip to get to. Concerning food, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed to do groceries.
