Beaver Bank

Beaver Bank is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Beaver Bank is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to park. However, Beaver Bank is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the community, and it is very easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. The bicycle is a fairly poor means of transportation in this part of Halifax because the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and there are quite a few elevation changes. Walking is also not very practical for house buyers in Beaver Bank as running common errands is difficult without a car.

Services

There are only a very small number of high schools in this part of the municipality and consequently they can be a very long trip away. Moreover, Beaver Bank does not have any primary schools. Furthermore, families may find it difficult for their children to reach daycares by walking. Regarding food, some, but not all, house buyers in this part of the municipality will reside within a short distance of the nearest supermarket. A small selection of restaurants is available in Beaver Bank as well.

Character

Beaver Bank is a great community to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. This part of the municipality is very quiet overall, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, there are approximately 30 green spaces nearby for residents to visit, like Harold T. Barrett Junior High School Park and Bearpaw Drive Park, resulting in them being easy to reach from the majority of locations within Beaver Bank.

Housing

The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Beaver Bank is an important part of its character. The buildings in this community are relatively new, because around one third of its buildings were constructed after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This community offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 95% of the population of this community own their home whereas the rest are renters.
