Transportation

The preferred approach to navigate Onslow is usually a car. Nearby highways, such as Highway 104, are reasonably easy to drive to from any location in this part of the subdivision of a county municipality, and it is very convenient to park. Onslow is not very suitable for people who like to get around as pedestrians since most day-to-day needs are impractical to meet without the use of a vehicle. This area is also not very amenable to biking since the bicycling network is not very comprehensive, and the terrain is not especially flat.

Services

There are only a very small number of high schools in this part of the subdivision of a county municipality and therefore they can be a very long trip away. Likewise, this area does not contain any primary schools. Additionally, parents and their children may consider it very hard to access daycares as pedestrians. With regards to eating, in vast majority cases, a car is needed to purchase groceries. There are also a few choices for those who appreciate close by restaurants.

Character

Onslow offers a slower-paced atmosphere. Onslow is reasonably quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder areas, especially close to Highway 104 or the railway line.

Housing

The housing stock of Onslow is composed primarily of single detached homes and townhouses. About 30% of properties in this part of Colchester Subdivision B were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This community is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 80% of the dwellings in the community are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented.
