Driving is usually the best method to move around in Rock Elm. It is very convenient to park. It is difficult to commute by bike in this part of Cape Breton Municipality as the topography is not very flat, and the bicycling infrastructure is quite bad. Rock Elm is also not very suitable for people who like to travel by foot because almost no common errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle.
