Reserve Mines

The community of Reserve Mines can be found in the municipality of Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred approach to move around in Reserve Mines is very often driving. Accessing a place to park is quite easy. It is very difficult for people walking to move around in Reserve Mines since very few daily errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle. The bicycle is a rather poor method of transportation in this community as the area is not especially flat, and the cycling network is quite bad.

Services

In all but a few cases, a car is required to purchase groceries. A limited number of restaurants and coffee shops are available. Regarding education, it is a reasonably short distance to reach primary schools from most homes for sale in Reserve Mines. However, this area does not have any high schools.

Character

Reserve Mines offers a calm environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time in green spaces. There are a few parks nearby for residents to visit, like Added Forest, resulting in them being easy to reach from most locations in the community. This part of the municipality is also excellent for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case around the airport (Sydney/J.A. Douglas McCurdy Airport).

In this part of Cape Breton Municipality, the vast majority of buildings are single detached homes, while townhouses are the main alternative in the housing stock. Around one third of properties in this community were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This community offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
