The community of Portage can be found in the municipality of Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is usually the favoured means of transportation in Portage. It is very convenient to park. It is difficult to move around by bicycle in Portage since there are very few bike lanes, and there are a good number of slopes. Many of the houses for sale in this community are located in places that are also not very suitable for those who prefer to travel by walking as running daily errands is very inconvenient without a car.

Services

Portage does not have any high schools or primary schools. Moreover, it can be very difficult to get to daycares by foot.
