The community of New Victoria can be found in the municipality of Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area is an extraordinarily good part of Cape Breton Municipality for moving around by car. Accessing a place to park is generally easy. This area is not very conducive to cycling as the topography is not especially flat, and the bicycling infrastructure is quite bad. Walking is also not very feasible for property owners in New Victoria as very few daily errands can be run without a car.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a car is required to do groceries. Regarding education, this community does not have any high schools or primary schools. Moreover, daycares are not numerous and accordingly tend to require a very long walk to get to.

Character

The character of New Victoria is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. The noise levels in this area are low, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Lastly, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to discover, including Colliery Lands Park, resulting in them being easy to reach from many locations within New Victoria.

Housing

The homes in this community are quite old, since about one third of its dwellings were built before the 1960s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. The sizeable percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this community is an important part of its character. Homeowners occupy around 90% of the units in New Victoria while the rest are rented. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
