Part of the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area, Vialoux is a neighbourhood within Winnipeg, Manitoba.


Cars are an excellent medium of transportation in Vialoux. Many homes for sale are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, and parking is easy. In contrast, Vialoux is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, property owners benefit from a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Vialoux is not especially conducive to walking as few daily errands can be run without having to use a vehicle.


Families will appreciate that wherever their home is situated in this area, daycares are close by. However, there are no primary schools and no high schools in this part of Winnipeg. In terms of eating, in all but a few cases, a vehicle is required to buy groceries. Nevertheless, it is generally a short distance to the nearest pharmacy, which can provide some staple foods. A coffee shop is usually a rather short stroll away, and there are also a limited number of options for those who care about restaurants in close proximity.


A highlight of Vialoux is its great variety of green spaces. There are a few parks nearby for residents to relax in and they are very well-situated, which makes them very easy to access from numerous locations in the neighbourhood. Lastly, due to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets, this area remains relatively calm.


Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing about 40% of dwellings in Vialoux, while the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes. The split between renters and homeowners is about even. Most of the homes in this part of Winnipeg were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s.
