Transportation

Tyne-Tees is particularly car friendly. Most of the street network is built for cars, and it is a very short drive to the closest highway from any home in this part of Winnipeg. The good public transit network allows people to get to many destinations without needing a vehicle owing to approximately 10 nearby bus lines. Although there are a limited number of hills for cyclists to brave, travelling by bicycle is at times challenging in Tyne-Tees since the bicycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive. Getting around on foot is also not very popular in this area, even though carrying out daily needs is easy without a car.

On the other hand, public green spaces, like Lagimodière-Gaboury Heritage Park and Seine River Parkway, are especially well-spread out and there are approximately 30 of them nearby for residents to enjoy, which makes it very easy to access them.

Housing

Roughly 80% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas renters occupy the remainder. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about 80% of buildings in this part of Winnipeg, and the rest of the dwellings are mainly townhouses. This area experienced its biggest building boom prior to the 1960s, so most of the available properties are from this time period. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
