The neighbourhood of Fleetwood is part of the city of Surrey, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.


The best method to move around in Fleetwood is often a car. Parking is quite easy. However, this area is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties. Even though this part of the city has a reasonably good bicycling infrastructure, Fleetwood is not particularly bicycling-friendly as riding is made arduous by the typically steep topography. There are also relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Fleetwood, although many daily needs are convenient to carry out by walking.


Accessing the closest supermarket by walking is feasible for some, but not all, home buyers in Fleetwood. Residents can enjoy over 50 restaurants and coffee shops as well. Concerning education, it is a rather short walk to reach schools and daycares from anywhere in this part of the city.


The character of Fleetwood is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. The noise levels in this area are very low, as the streets tend to be very tranquil. Lastly, reaching green spaces in the neighbourhood, including Fleetwood Park and Enver Creek Park, is very easy since there are over 100 of them close by for residents to unwind in.


Roughly one third of dwellings are single detached homes, making it easy to find detached homes in Fleetwood, while small apartment buildings, duplexes, and townhouses are the main alternatives in the housing stock. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood whereas the remainder are rented. The homes in this neighbourhood are very new, since around one third of its dwellings were built between 1990 and 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
