Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Cloverdale is a neighbourhood within Surrey, British Columbia.

Transportation

This area is reasonably car friendly. It is very convenient to park. On the other hand, the public transit service in this part of the city is not very frequent. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most residences. Although Cloverdale features a fairly good bicycling infrastructure, this part of the city is not especially appropriate for cycling as there are quite a few elevation changes. Walking in this area is also not very popular, even though carrying out daily needs is convenient.

Services

Getting to one of around 10 supermarkets by walking is possible for some, but not all, home buyers in Cloverdale. A limited number of restaurants and cafes are available as well. With respect to education, it is a reasonably short walk to access primary schools and daycares from any location in Cloverdale. On the other hand, high schools are not very plentiful and accordingly not always within walking distance. There are some of the province's top secondary schools, like Relevant High School, in Cloverdale.

Character

The character of Cloverdale is exemplified by its relaxed environment. This neighbourhood is very good for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Lastly, parks are very well-located and there are over 100 of them nearby for residents to relax in, making it easy to reach them.

Housing

Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing roughly 45% of dwellings in Cloverdale, but small apartment buildings, duplexes, and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. A majority of the housing growth in this part of the city has occurred following the year 2000. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the units in Cloverdale and 20% are rented.
