The neighbourhood of City Centre is part of the city of Surrey, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.
Transportation
City Centre will please home buyers that appreciate a diversity of methods of transportation. Owing to 3 rapid transit stations (Gateway Station, King George Station and Surrey Central Station) with access to the Expo Skytrain, and about 20 nearby bus lines, this area benefits from a fairly good public transit system. It is also easy for pedestrians to move around in City Centre; most daily needs are convenient to meet on foot, and there are also a fair number of businesses in proximity. City Centre is not especially bicycling-friendly because cyclists encounter a significant amount of slopes. Nonetheless, the cycling network is reasonably comprehensive.
Services
The closest grocery store in this neighbourhood is usually only a short walk away. Additionally, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and there are also about 10 cafes in City Centre. Concerning education, daycares and schools are easy to walk to from any location in this neighbourhood.
Character
City Centre offers a relaxed ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. There are about 20 public green spaces close by for residents to visit and they are very well-distributed, making them very easy to reach. This area is also quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
Housing
In City Centre, around 40% of buildings are large apartment buildings, while small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This part of Surrey is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 60% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home and 40% are owners. About 40% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
