Located within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Victoria is a neighbourhood within Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Home buyers in this part of the city are served with several alternatives to travel without the need for a car. With many nearby rapid transit stations on the Expo Line and Millennium Line, and about 10 nearby bus lines, getting around by public transit is straightforward in Victoria. Victoria will also draw house buyers who appreciate being able to walk everywhere because it is especially walking-friendly; running daily errands is convenient without needing to get in a car, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. This neighbourhood is a fairly convenient part of Vancouver for cyclists. More specifically, the cycling network is reasonably good.

Services

It is especially convenient to access both a general and a specialty grocery store without a vehicle from most properties for sale in Victoria. In addition, with over 100 restaurants and about 10 cafes, Victoria is a very good area in which to eat out. Residents benefit from a large number of nearby clothing stores. With respect to education, in this part of the city, parents and their kids will generally be able to reach schools and daycares as pedestrians.

Character

Victoria has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. Victoria is quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. However, there are about 40 public green spaces nearby for residents to explore, including Kensington Park and John Hendry Park, and they are very well-spread out, which makes them easy to access from many locations within this part of the city. Finally, even though this neighbourhood is not known for its vibrancy, its main streets are still quite energetic, and with its a few bars, there are options for nighttime activities.

Housing

Duplexes are the main housing type, representing about 45% of dwellings in Victoria, and the remaining properties are mainly small apartment buildings and single detached homes. This area has a good variety of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The split between renters and homeowners is about even. About one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
