Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Royal York is a neighbourhood within Delta, British Columbia.

Transportation

Moving around by car is very easy in Royal York. It is easy to park, and the majority of real estate listings are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway. However, this part of the municipality is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is generally very close by. The bike is a good mode of transportation in Royal York since the bicycling network is well-developed. This neighbourhood is not very conducive to those who prefer to get around on foot as carrying out day-to-day needs is sometimes challenging without a vehicle.

Services

In most cases, a vehicle is needed in this part of the municipality to reach the nearest supermarket. That being said, a restaurant is often just around the corner. When it comes to education, schools and daycares are easy to get to without a car from any location in Royal York.

The character of Royal York is exemplified by its calm ambience. This part of the municipality is very quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, it is very easy to reach public green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are around 20 of them close by for residents to visit.

Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the properties in Royal York and 10% are rented. The sizeable percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood experienced its most significant construction boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available housing is from this time period. This part of Delta is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
