Nordel

The neighbourhood of Nordel is part of the municipality of Delta, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a fairly good transportation option in this neighbourhood. The majority of properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, and it is convenient to park. However, travelling by transit can be challenging in this part of the municipality due to the low service level. Nevertheless, residents benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically around the corner. Traveling as a pedestrian is not very popular in this area, although running common errands is easy without needing to resort to a car. However, this part of the municipality is rather cycling-friendly as the cycling infrastructure is very good.

Services

It is a short stroll to access daycares and schools from any location in Nordel. With respect to food, it is rarely possible for home buyers in this area to purchase groceries by walking. Additionally, a restaurant is generally just around the corner, and property owners benefit from a few cafes as well.

Character

Nordel offers a calm atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. Green spaces, such as Mackie Park and North Delta Community Park, are especially well-located and there are over 50 of them close by for residents to relax in, which makes it very easy to reach them. This neighbourhood is very quiet overall, as the streets are very calm.

Housing

In Nordel, most dwellings are single detached homes, while duplexes are the main alternative in the housing stock. Most of the properties in this part of Delta were built between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 2000s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. About three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented.
