East Maple Ridge

East Maple Ridge is a neighbourhood within Maple Ridge, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area is particularly car friendly. It is very convenient to find a place to park. In contrast, East Maple Ridge is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. A majority of the houses for sale in this area are located in places that are not very suitable for pedestrians because very few daily errands can be run without a car. The bike is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in this neighbourhood since the cycling infrastructure is fairly poor, and cyclists encounter a significant amount of slopes.

Services

House buyers in this neighbourhood will value that a grocery store is always only a rather short trip away. A small number of restaurants and cafes are available as well. In terms of education, parents and their schoolchildren will appreciate the proximity to schools and daycares, which are within a short distance from the majority of homes for sale in this part of the city.

Character

East Maple Ridge offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. The noise levels in this part of the city are very low, as the streets are usually especially calm. Finally, it is very easy to reach green spaces in the neighbourhood, since the majority of homes have one that is easy to access and there are about 10 parks close by for residents to explore.

Housing

About 85% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented. The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Roughly half of properties in this area were built after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This part of the city is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
