Chartwell

The neighbourhood of Chartwell can be found in the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Chartwell is an extremely convenient part of West Vancouver for driving. Coming across a parking spot is quite easy, and most properties for sale are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. In contrast, Chartwell is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close by. This area is not very convenient for pedestrians as running common errands is sometimes difficult without a vehicle. Chartwell is also not very amenable to cycling because riding is rendered difficult by the typically steep topography, and the bicycling infrastructure is fairly poor.

Services

Home buyers in Chartwell often have to use a car to reach the closest supermarket. That being said, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner. Concerning education, schools and daycares are convenient to reach as a pedestrian from most homes for sale in Chartwell.

Character

People who prefer a calm environment will enjoy Chartwell. There are approximately 20 public green spaces close by for residents to unwind in, like Hollyburn Country Club, which makes them very easy to access from many locations within the neighbourhood. This area is also very quiet, as the streets are usually very peaceful - although there are still several louder sections, especially closer to Taylor Offramp Way or Trans-Canada Highway.

Housing

Around three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the remainder are renters. Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in this neighbourhood. About 40% of properties in this part of the municipality were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
