Part of the Greater Prince George metropolitan area, Lansdowne is a neighbourhood within Prince George, British Columbia.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is very car friendly. Parking is quite easy. In contrast, Lansdowne is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. It is easy to get around by bicycle in Lansdowne. Most homes for sale in this part of Prince George are located in areas that are not particularly convenient for those who like to travel by walking as meeting daily needs is occasionally challenging without a car.

Services

The closest grocery store in this part of Prince George is typically only a short stroll away. Additionally, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and residents can enjoy a few cafes as well. A decent selection of clothing stores can also be found within a reasonably short walking distance. When it comes to education, schools and daycares are easy to access as a pedestrian from most homes for sale in Lansdowne.

Character

Lansdowne has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. The noise levels in Lansdowne are low, as the streets tend to be quite calm, although that is not the case around the airport (Prince George (Pacific Western Helicopters) Heliport). On the other hand, it is easy to access parks since there are about 10 of them close by for residents to enjoy. Finally, even though this part of the city is not known for its lively ambience, with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink since they are generally located around the corner.

Housing

Most of the housing growth in Lansdowne took place between 1960 and 1980. In this part of the city, about half of dwellings are mobile homes, whereas the remainder are mainly single detached homes. About 85% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the remainder are rented. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
