Downtown

Situated in the Greater Prince George metropolitan area, Downtown Prince George is a neighbourhood within Prince George, British Columbia.

Transportation

Many of the houses for sale in this area are located in areas that are fairly conducive to pedestrians; running daily errands is convenient without a vehicle, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Commuting by bicycle is also convenient in this part of the city. Driving is a fairly good medium of transportation in this area. Accessing a place to park is easy. In contrast, the public transit service in Downtown is not very frequent. Nonetheless, property owners benefit from around 10 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close by.

Services

Home buyers in Downtown will value that a grocery store is always only a short stroll away. Furthermore, there is generally a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. A good variety of clothing stores is also situated within a reasonably short walking distance. When it comes to education, in this area, families will generally be able to get to daycares and schools by foot.

Character

Downtown has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. Downtown is quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic, however some parts can be quite loud, especially near the railway line. On the other hand, public green spaces, such as McMillan Creek Trail and Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park, are very well-situated and there are approximately 20 of them nearby for residents to relax in, which makes them very easy to access. Lastly, although this part of Prince George is not known for its vibrancy, places to go out at night are well-distributed throughout the area.

Housing

In Downtown, roughly 40% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, and the remainder are mainly single detached homes. This part of the city also has a good selection of unit sizes - it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The proportions of renters and homeowners are about even.
