Valley Centre

The neighbourhood of Valley Centre is part of the municipality of District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Valley Centre presents homeowners with several alternative means of transportation. The public transit service in this area is moderately practical. More specifically, property owners benefit from a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. A majority of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are also rather well-suited for pedestrians; many daily needs can be carried out without a car, and there are also a good number of businesses nearby. This area is a fairly pleasant part of District of North Vancouver for cyclists. For example, Valley Centre features fairly good bicycling infrastructure.

Services

Both general and specialty grocery stores are typically accessible within a short walk from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood. Additionally, there are a fair number of opportunities in close proximity for those who care about restaurants and cafes. It is also easy to get to a selection of clothing stores as a pedestrian. In terms of education, in this part of District of North Vancouver, parents and their children will almost always be able to reach daycares and schools without the use of a car.

Character

The character of Valley Centre is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. This area is reasonably quiet overall, as the streets are generally quite calm. Lastly, parks, including Hastings Creek Park and Grand Boulevard, are especially well-located and there are around 30 of them close by for residents to visit, making them very easy to reach.

Housing

Roughly two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and one third are renters. Small apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing about half of dwellings in this part of the municipality, whereas the rest are mainly large apartment buildings, duplexes, and single detached homes. About 45% of homes in this area were built after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and two bedroom homes.
