Big Bend

The neighbourhood of Big Bend is part of the city of Burnaby, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Thanks to a few nearby bus lines, commuting by public transit is easy in this neighbourhood. It is inconvenient for pedestrians to move around in Big Bend as few day-to-day errands can be run without needing to resort to a car. This neighbourhood is not very suited for biking as cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of hills, and the cycling network is not very extensive. On the other hand, this neighbourhood is an extremely convenient part of Burnaby for getting around by car. It is very easy to find a place to park.

Services

The nearest supermarket in this part of Burnaby is typically only a rather short walk away. There are also a limited number of opportunities for those who care about restaurants and cafes in close proximity. Concerning education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Big Bend. Furthermore, there are only a few daycares and thus they can be a long walk away.

Character

The character of Big Bend is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. This area is good for those who need quiet surroundings, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - however some parts can be quite loud, especially closer to one of the railway lines. Lastly, there are around 10 parks close by for residents to visit and they are very well-situated, making it very easy to reach them.
