Downtown is a fairly pleasant part of St. Albert for pedestrians; running common errands is convenient. The public transit network in Downtown is rather poor. Nonetheless, house owners have access to a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close. On the other hand, cars are a great mode of transportation in this part of the city. It is especially convenient to park, and most properties for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway.


It is often an option for property owners in this part of the city to buy their groceries by walking. Likewise, this neighbourhood is a good place in which to go out to eat, for example along St. Anne Street. It is also a rather short walk to a reasonable selection of clothing stores.
