Mount Royal is also a fairly pleasant part of Calgary for pedestrians; many daily errands can be run on foot, and numerous businesses are close by. Although it is a flat ride to most destinations, Mount Royal is not very bike-friendly as.

Additionally, thanks to 30-odd restaurants and cafes in Mount Royal, there is generally a spot to get some food or drink just around the corner. Home buyers have access to a fair number of clothing stores within walking distance. In terms of education, both primary and secondary schools are straightforward to get to on foot from any location in this part of the city. On the other hand, families may consider it difficult to access daycares as a pedestrian.


Mount Royal is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this community. Mount Royal is very quiet, as the streets are very tranquil. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to enjoy and they are especially well-located, making it very easy to access them. This part of Calgary is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes. The population residing in this community is evenly split between renters and owners. About one third of properties in this community were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
