Located within the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, New Rosemont is a neighbourhood in Montréal, Quebec.

Transportation

New Rosemont presents homeowners with the choice between several methods of transportation. Traveling as a pedestrian is fairly feasible for home buyers in this neighbourhood; running common errands is easy without needing a car, and a variety of businesses are rather close by. It is also convenient to commute by bike in New Rosemont as it is a flat ride to most locations. With plenty of nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Ligne 1 - Verte, and about 30 nearby bus lines, New Rosemont features a fairly good public transit network. This part of the city is also a fairly convenient part of Montréal for travelling by car. Many properties for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway.

Services

A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short distance away in this part of Montréal. Moreover, a restaurant is usually just around the corner, for example along Rue Beaubien, and house buyers are served by a few cafes as well. House buyers have access to many nearby clothing stores. In terms of education, daycares and schools are especially convenient to get to as a pedestrian from any location in New Rosemont.

Character

New Rosemont has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. Most areas in New Rosemont are quiet, as the streets tend to be reasonably tranquil. However, greenery is present in this neighbourhood; parks, like Parc Louis-Riel and Parc Saint-Donat, are especially well-distributed and there are about 30 of them close by for residents to relax in, which makes them very easy to get to from a lot of locations within this part of Montréal. Furthermore, residents will find that numerous streets have fairly good tree coverage. Finally, although this area is not known for its vibrancy, the vibe can still be quite energetic around its main streets, and finding one of the approximately 10 bars is very easy as they are generally situated in very convenient locations.

Housing

Around two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home whereas owners make up the remainder. Small apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing about 70% of buildings in this area, while duplexes make up most of the remaining housing stock. This part of the city experienced its biggest building boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available properties are from this era. This part of Montréal offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
