Airport

Airport is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Thanks to various rapid transit stations with access to the 109 | Meadowvale Express, and about 20 nearby bus lines, property owners can count on public transit to move around in Airport. It is impractical for people travelling on foot to move around in Airport because many day-to-day needs are difficult to carry out by walking. This part of the city is not very cycling-friendly because the bicycling network is not very well-developed, and riding a bike is made strenuous by the often steep terrain. In contrast, travelling by car is especially convenient in Airport. Most houses for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 401, and it is very convenient to come across a parking spot.

Services

This neighbourhood does not have any high schools or primary schools. In addition, daycares are not plentiful and therefore not always within walking distance. In terms of eating, in all but a few cases, a car is required in Airport to reach the nearest supermarket. Residents are served by about 40 restaurants and coffee shops.

Character

Airport offers a reasonably good selection of green spaces to enjoy. There are a few green spaces close by for residents to discover, including Max Ward Park and Wood Creek, which results in them being easy to get to from most locations in this neighbourhood. Lastly, noise can sometimes be an issue in this area, as traffic can occasionally be loud during busier hours of the day.

Housing

Around 45% of dwellings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Airport, while single detached homes and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. About 40% of properties in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s. This part of Mississauga also has a good choice of housing sizes - it is quite easy to find homes ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The proportions of renters and homeowners are about even.
