Old Markham Village is a neighbourhood within Markham, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.


This neighbourhood will appeal to homeowners that value various means of transportation. The public transit system in this part of the city is reasonably good thanks to Hwy 7 / Main Markham on the purple | VIVA PURPLE, and around 10 nearby bus lines. Travelling on foot is also quite practical for residents in this part of the city; many day-to-day errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle. Cycling is sometimes difficult in this area as there are quite a few hills, and the bicycling network is fairly poor.


Families will welcome the proximity to schools and daycares, which are within walking distance from most, if not all, houses for sale in Old Markham Village. With regards to food, the nearest grocery store in this part of the city is usually only a rather short walk away. Furthermore, Old Markham Village is a good place in which to eat out, and property owners benefit from a few cafes as well. A good variety of clothing stores can also be found within a reasonably short walking distance.


Old Markham Village offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. Accessing parks is very easy in the neighbourhood, since many houses have one nearby and there are a few parks close by for residents to unwind in. This area is reasonably quiet overall, as the streets tend to be calm - however noise can be problematic around the railway line.

This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around 70% of the units in Old Markham Village while the remainder are rented.
