Old Milton

Situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Old Milton is a neighbourhood within Milton, Ontario.

Transportation

A majority of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are well-suited for walking; carrying out daily needs is easy on foot. However, Old Milton is not very appropriate for biking because the bicycling infrastructure is not very extensive, and riding a bike is rendered strenuous by the typically hilly topography. The preferred approach to navigate Old Milton is very often a car. Parking is easy, and most properties for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway. However, this neighbourhood is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there is the Milton Station on the Milton Line. There are approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes.

Services

Parents and their kids will value that no matter where their property is situated in Old Milton, schools and daycares are close by. In terms of food, a grocery store is generally reachable within a very short walk from anywhere in this area. In addition, there are a fair number of choices for those who care about nearby restaurants and cafes.

Character

Old Milton is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. It is easy to get to parks since there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in. This neighbourhood is also quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some areas can be quite loud, especially near the railway line.

Housing

In Old Milton, about one third of dwellings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. About 40% of homes in this part of the town were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This neighbourhood has a good choice of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Homeowners occupy roughly 55% of the units in Old Milton whereas the remainder are rented.
