Part of the Greater Kamloops metropolitan area, City Centre is a neighbourhood within Kamloops, British Columbia.
Transportation
City Centre will appeal to active people since it is well-suited for walking; many daily errands can be run without the use of a car. The public transit service in City Centre is not very frequent. Thankfully, there are about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. However, cars are a great means of transportation in City Centre. Nearby highways, such as Trans-Canada Highway, are easy to access from any location in this part of Kamloops, and it is straightforward to park.
Services
It is easy to access the closest grocery store by walking in City Centre. Likewise, those who like to eat in restaurants will have a fair number of options, and property owners are served by a few cafes as well. With regards to education, families will welcome the proximity to daycares and schools, which are within walking distance from most houses for sale in City Centre.
Character
City Centre offers a vast selection of green spaces to enjoy, as well as some areas with a vibrant atmosphere. There are around 10 parks nearby for residents to explore and they are very well-distributed, making them easy to get to from most locations within the neighbourhood. This part of the city remains relatively quiet, due to the presence of few pedestrians, although there can be more noise for those who are closer to one of the railway lines.
Housing
The majority of the housing stock of City Centre consists of single detached homes and small apartment buildings, while the rest are mainly large apartment buildings. This neighbourhood offers mainly one bedroom and two bedroom homes. The split between homeowners and renters is about even. Roughly 40% of properties in this part of the city were constructed prior to the 1960s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s.
