Roche Point

Roche Point is a neighbourhood within District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Roche Point is an extremely good part of District of North Vancouver for getting around by car. It is very convenient to access a parking spot. On the other hand, the public transit service in Roche Point is not very frequent. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. Cycling is difficult in Roche Point as the bicycling infrastructure is quite poor, and riding is made difficult by the often sloping topography. This area is also not very suitable for those who travel by foot as very few daily needs can be carried out without the use of a vehicle.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this neighbourhood. Furthermore, daycares are not very numerous and thus not always within walking distance. With respect to food, it is generally an option for house buyers in Roche Point to do their groceries on foot.

Character

Roche Point offers a calm ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. This neighbourhood is reasonably good for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, public green spaces are very well-spread out and there are a few of them close by for residents to explore, making them very easy to access.

Housing

Nearly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder. In this part of District of North Vancouver, around 60% of buildings are single detached homes, while duplexes and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. Roughly half of properties in this part of the municipality were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
