Riverside West

The neighbourhood of Riverside West is part of the municipality of District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.


Travelling by car is very convenient in Riverside West. Nearby highways are quite easy to drive to from any home in Riverside West, and finding a place to park is generally easy. On the other hand, public transit users may experience few choices in this part of the municipality due to the infrequent service. Most houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are not very well-suited for walking because few daily errands can be run on foot. Getting around by bicycle is also difficult in Riverside West because the cycling network is quite bad, and there is a considerable amount of elevation changes.


It is frequently feasible for home buyers in Riverside West to do their grocery shopping by walking. As far as education is concerned, there are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of the municipality. Likewise, there are only a limited number of daycares and accordingly they can be a long walk away.


The character of Riverside West is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Many locations in the neighbourhood have reasonably good access to green spaces, like Greenbelt and Lillooet Park, since there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit. This part of District of North Vancouver is also especially quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.


Roughly 85% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. The housing stock of this part of the municipality is composed predominantly of single detached homes and townhouses. About 55% of the properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 2000s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
